The Prompt

The Premise:

If a picture truly is worth a thousand words, what do these have to say?

The Challenge:
Each picture is a snapshot into a character's life - choose a photograph and use it to set the scene, create a mood, and otherwise form the foundation of your entry. Feel free to explore the life of the character (or characters) that you choose, and the moment that the photograph inspires.

Your Limits:
1. All pairings are allowed, as are all time periods.
2. All characters much be taken from canon, up to book six, though you are not restricted to solely canonical events. However, please make use of HP resources to keep actions and personalities as close to HBP-canon as possible.

Entry Rules/Regulations:

1. You may submit as many entries as you like.
2. Please do not submit an entry with a rating higher than R, though a rating no higher than PG-13 is strongly encouraged.
3. Please stay within the spirit of the prompt. Take advantage of its hints of personality and tone. Exploit these to your advantage.
4. Before submitting your entry, proofread it for spelling, punctuation, or grammatical mistakes.
5. Entries should be no longer than 4,000 words. Entries of over 4,000 words will be disqualified.
6. All entries must be received at scrivenshaft@unknowableroom.org by 11:59 CTS on November 30 to be included for judging.
7. In the body of your e-mail, you must note which picture you have written to.
