(October 2nd 2008, 2pm)she can’t see the way I am a salmon, swimming against the current, accompanied by my flock of salmon friends.
That was just hilarious. Or brilliant. Or both brilliant and hilarious. Salmon.
Oh it's so good
(This is hilarious by the way. though i'm sure you must be tired of people telling you how good you are by now)

Haha, I don't know! Sarah and I pimped it constantly, but that's life, eh? Glad to know you liked it! :D

ChristyCorr on chapter #22.I never actually reviewed this before, but here's a feeble apology for this mishap: I really love this fic, and Algernon is definitely among the cutest pets ever written, and you're both -brilliant-. You did a great job! This is an excellent read, and it was wonderful to rearead it for Hourglass. Congratulations, by the way! :)
Author Response:
It's cool, I'm a terrible reviewer myself. And look, it's taken me forever to reply, so we'll call it even, shall we? Thank you very much for the kind review. :D

(May 7th 2008, 3pm)This is brilliant! "I asked Karl when he’d take her back and he said that he might do it after dinner, if there’s chicken." Simply brilliant.

(May 4th 2008, 9pm)Oh, I've so enjoyed reading this! I saw the rec on Coffee and Chocolate, and have been devouring it (fiendishly, perhaps) over the last two days. It made me spit iced tea all over my computer screen. Unfortunate, but worth it. :) I loved the quirks of character that you gave Lily and James to flesh them out, and I *especially* loved your OCs - Karl, Terry, and Helena were particular favourites! I hope that Karl and Beatrice lived happily ever after - or as happily as her pining for another man/werewolf permits. Somehow, I don't think Karl would mind terribly much.
Thanks for sharing this!
Author Response:
Oh, I didn't know we'd been recced there! Cool. :) Thanks for reading and reviewing, naturally. Glad you loved it like we do (and we do). Sorry for the iced tea. (But not really.) Karl and Beatrice are characters stolen from an unfinished Lily/James novel GhostofBambi was writing. Don't want to give away too much in case she ever publishes it, but they unfortunately do not live happily ever after. Disappointing, I know. Anyway, thanks again!

(March 23rd 2008, 2am)fantastic story i couldn't believe that was the end i wanted to keep reading! i really liked that it was written from the point of view of both characters. any chance of a sequel?
Author Response:
Thank you! It was hard for us to end it, but there's no real story beyond the end chapter. The sequel would be really dull, so we won't be writing it. Sorry!

(January 20th 2008, 5am)I have followed this story from the beginning and I am in love. LIke no joke. I identify with both characters and you have me saying aw. then the next second its hilarious and i awkwardly laugh out loud and people stare at me like im crazy.
LOVE IT
Author Response:
Laughing out loud is the best way to do it, other people be damned. ;) Thanks so much for the review! We tried to make it very real and everyday (only not, you know?).

(January 18th 2008, 1pm)Huzzah!! I feel all happy and celebratory because James loves Lily and Lily loves James and Petunia's wedding was ruined and the smarmy French blokes haven't gotten to Lily and... Hahaha =) As you can see, I really liked the uplifting end to your fanfic about nothing. It wasn't totally about nothing, because there was quite a large number of ongoing sagas between the characters. Many of which weren't exactly given an ending so I assumes the 'nothing' factor comes into play there =) But I like it the way you guys have left it and although I'm sad to see this story end, you've finished it on a very good note. I'm not eloquent enough to say much else so I'll leave it there and hope to see more stories from the both of you in the future!
Author Response:
The “nothing” in the summary is a play on the supposed plot of Seinfeld. My own personal joke, really. There were sagas, but many of them were ultimately not that important, aside from the Voldemore/Order business. I had some reservations about the ending, so I’m glad to hear you liked it. It’s in the nature of diaries to keep going, so we couldn’t tie up all the loose ends. Need to leave the reader something to imagine for herself. Thank you so much for the super review! We might co-write more in the future, but right now we’re sort of still stuck in Haggis-mode.

(January 18th 2008, 12am)I'm so incredibly sad that this is over! I think this is probably one of my all-time favorite fics. Great job, you two! And if y'all ever have the desire to co-write anything else, that would be fine with me :)
Author Response:
We honestly don't know what to do with ourselves now that Haggis is done. It's been such a huge part of our lives, and now... yeah. We're honored that it's one of your favorite fics - wow! We might co-write more in the future, but for now we're still recovering from this novel. Thank you for all your reviews!

(January 17th 2008, 11pm)OH NO!!!! ): now i'm sad... it's over?? you sure???
Ah that was so amazing!! i love this story! SECTACTUALR JOB TO THE BOTH OF YOU!!
you both are just brilliant writers. i have to say that this last chapter wasn't my favorite because idk why but i still loved reading it. (:
very enjoyable story! you guys should write another story for Victorie and Teddy or Harry and Ginny or something. i would read it. (:
lol. anyway, you guys are amazing!! i'm sad to hear it's over!
blue_jeansAuthor Response:
It is indeed over. We’ve no idea what would happen after this point, and you probably wouldn’t be interested in that either. It’s unfortunate that you dislike the last chapter – it’s our favorite, but whatever, you know? GhostofBambi and I have only ever written Lily/James, but maybe one day we’ll branch out. I’d have to prod my co-writer into it because she’s such a purist. ;) Thank you so much for your reviews!

(January 17th 2008, 11pm)It's over? So sad! But it was a wonderful story that never failed to make me laugh. Good job and I would love it if you two would do another story like this in the future.
KristinAuthor Response:
We both love making people (and ourselves) laugh, so it means quite a bit to know we succeeded on both counts. Thank you! We might do some more co-writing. It's uncertain at this point.

(January 17th 2008, 11pm)So I clicked on this story for no apparent reason (other than I thought the title was funny) and ended up spending HALF the day reading your story from start to finish.
I adored that I was able so see both Lily and James's perspectives on what took place. I also appreciated that Peter was apart of the story. I don't exactly like the fellow, but anyone who writes a story about this era and leaves him out just because they don't like him is stupid.
This story made me laugh SO MANY times that I actually forgot that I was home sick today and feeling like shit. All in all, I was glad that I clicked on this story. :) Nice work.
Author Response:
The title is an obvious play off of Flowers for Algernon. Except Algernon is now a cat instead of a mouse, which amuses my simple mind. ;) Peter! Thank you! We also really hate when Peter is conveniently dropped from the story because he was a traitor. He was their friend, damn it! Ugh. People. But yes, we’re happy to hear we could make you feel better! We laughed so much writing this story, it’s so much fun to know other people laugh at the same things and that we’re not just lunatics. Thank you for reviewing!

(January 17th 2008, 10pm)"I Stunned her from under my Cloak. Unfortunately I tripped on said Cloak on my way to catch her, so she fell forward and hit her face on a bench."
This made me laugh out loud. Actually, this whole chapter did. I love your versions of Lily and James. You have both done wonderful jobs and I'm very sad to see this story end. Perhaps another one someday about Karl/Beatrice/Remus? Because Karl was wonderful. And I do hope Algernon got better...
Author Response:
This chapter is our favorite because so many things finally got to come up (middle name, forks, etc.). No more Haggis stories are forthcoming. Beatrice/Remus is resolved in the story Beatrice is from, which is GhostofBambi's unfinished/unposted novel. And yes, Algernon got better! I'd never let him die in my story. Thank you so much for reviewing!

(January 17th 2008, 7pm)OH NO! This can't be the end! NOOOOO!!!!
How cool is this fic? huh? I think there should be a petition for you two to continue!
Fantastic job guys. You had me gripped. I always looked forward to an email in my inbox telling me another chapter was sat waitning for me.
I'll miss this; James and Lily....and most of all Algeron. (please tell me he got better)
thnks fr th mmrys

Author Response:
That's a great compliment, but we really couldn't continue. It would be so boring for everyone! The best part of the story is how they get together, and now they've done that. We're really happy to hear you loved the story so much - it was our first finished novel (jointly and separately). Algernon gets better! Don't worry! He has to live until at least Harry flies around on his toy broom. Thank you for your lovely review!

And we'll miss writing it, and talking to reviewers! Sad day all around. I'm incredibly happy to hear it reminds you of Adrian Mole. Sue Townsend is amazing!

Grimm_Sister on chapter #22.Yay.
Although I hate to see it end, I really applaud your ending entry. It tied in all your elements nicely.
Also, I just want to thank you for making the love confession scenes hilarious and awkward rather than sickeningly sentimental.
This story was always a blast to read. I've enjoyed James's awesome one-liners and his bland recitation of the bizarre. Also, his mom rocks, by the way. And I think, GhostofBambi that you have created a thoroughly wonderful Lily without falling victim to any of the ridiculousness so common in...canon-relationships.
I do wonder that you left the Beatrice/Remus/Karl plot where you did. I wonder how Beatrice and Karl are going to get on.
You've had eccentric and fun cast of character that it has been a delight to get to know. The way you engineered that was refreshing and delightful. This is one of my favorite fanfics ever. And I'm not just saying that because it's almost two in the morning and I'm stressed beyond belief.
Seriously though. I'm going to have a lot of good days new installments of this story could have brightened. You cut me off when I need you the most!
Author Response:
Lily’s love scene had been planned out for a bit, but James’s was a last-minute thing as we rushed toward our deadline of 2008 (we missed it by mere minutes!). I was worried about the reception, but it’s been positive, so huzzah! Thanks for reassuring me on that point. The Beatrice love triangle was deliberately left mostly unfinished since that’s life. James and Lily keep writing in their diaries, it’s just infinitely less interesting now. Beatrice is stolen from GhostofBambi’s unposted novel, so you’ll have to persuade her to finish it if you want to know what happens with Remus and Beatrice. That this is one of your favorite fics is a giant compliment. Thank you! You are such an amazing reviewer (if I haven’t said as much before, I’ll say it again). We’re sorry to cut you off, but you wouldn’t want to read their diaries now. All mush for a while. And James’s mother, who we also are very fond of. Perhaps someday I’ll write how she got banned from Italy. I recently decided how that happened, so who knows… Thank you again!

(January 17th 2008, 5am)This was a wonderful story! It took seeing it a few times on the fics page to give it a try, but I'm so glad I did because it was a very smart, funny, and touching look at James and Lily's relationship. I think you two really did them justice here- there were a few times when I doubted their sanity, but even more times when I rooted for them to finally succeed and they did, if in a decidedly unconventional Lily-and-James fashion.
I really hope you and Ghostof Bambi collaborate again in the future, you work very well together. Thanks for regular updates of such a great fic.
Author Response:
We’re glad you gave it a shot! The summary is a little weird – it’s my personal reference to Seinfeld, but I don’t think many people get that. The title has a more obvious source. We’re especially glad you think we stayed in character – like GhostofBambi mentioned, that’s one of our big peeves in other stories, so we try our best to keep them mostly in line with canon. (Clearly they would be more sane in real life….) We’ve written some weird things since we finished, but none of them make much sense to anyone but us. The jury is still out on more postable Lily/James. Thank you for reviewing!

It is over, sadly! We're happy you enjoyed it, and we might write more in the future together. Well, we have written more, it's just too absurd for the internet. ;)

Grimm_Sister on chapter #21.I feel like you're not explaining all of James's seeming non sequiters the way that you used to. Perhaps I just let them go, but once I got the hint of the craziness and, well, full truth of each one I've started really wanting the rest of the backstory to creep in somehow later in the text.
Other than that, as fun to read as always.
Author Response:
You always have good points, you know that? I hadn't really thought about it, but I think a lot of it is that since Lily wasn't around to explain the whole story, I (James) had less incentive to hint at more backstory. If that makes sense. I couldn't do the whole story because James only does that for more important things. Hmm. Something to think about. Thank you!
