“You’re sort of lucky,” he says.
She looks at him, brow raised. “I am?”
“Yeah.” He pauses. “Victoire. Victory. Celebration. Not the recycled name of a fallen war hero.”
She blinks. She isn’t sure what to say. He continues:
“Fred, James, Albus, Lily… Harry never knew his parents any better than I know mine; how’s he supposed to separate James-his-son from James-his-dad? What if Fred took after Percy? Albus is an old man’s name. It’s like replacing them, not honouring them.”
“You’re named after your grandfather.”
“Yeah. I think Gran wishes I wasn’t.” He pauses. “She’d never call me Ted.”
