She’s too much like they used to be, Lily and James and Sirius and even himself, years ago. She laughs like they did, she’s young like they were, and when he looks at her all he can think of is a monument in Godric’s Hollow, a life sentence to Azkaban and a fluttering black veil.
He doesn’t want his awful luck to get her killed. He wishes if he left, she’d understand.
But mornings after full moons, her kiss is still the same, and he loves her, though he doesn’t want to.
